Ground Fighting 101

Ground Fighting 101 AZ Kali is a small studio in Cave Creek AZ. Kali is an ancient form of martial art of Indonesia and the Philippines.

Kali is the forerunner and mother art or Escrima and Arnis. Most styles of martial arts start with empty hand techniques and then the weapons are taught later, where as in Kali the opposite is true. The learning process at AZ kali is linear meaning sequential. First the 16 basic fundamentals are taught for a strong foundation. Sayaus are then shown to further strengthen the students foot work and

upper body awareness. When the student is ready he or she is shown the Weaponry fighting methods, Numerado ( inside fighting ), Cabisedario ( outside fighting ) and the Sumbrada ( counter for counter sparring ).
