Merry Liftmas AND you BETTER train legs šŸŽ„šŸ’ŖšŸ»

My favorite part of this whole training thing is making connections- total health transcends beyond just prescribed meal plans and random workouts.

Katie Walden Markowitz is someone I am so grateful to know. She is a true testament to what hard work and consistency can do.

We began working together back in March, a few months into her glucose journey.

Combined with her daily consistency with nutrition at home on her own, she is making some SERIOUS gains. She has shown up week after week to build lean muscle, boost metabolism, and is pretty freaking strong!

She is unstoppable šŸ’ŖšŸ»šŸ¤

Thank you for your trust in me as your coach- I am so honored to be a part of your journey.

(It’s just a wonderful bonus that we can laugh while breaking a sweat šŸ˜‚)

I am in awe of your strength- inside and out. šŸ’ŖšŸ»šŸ’œ

Here’s a full day of eating with a calorie goal of 1800!

Protein goal: 135⁣

DISCLAIMER!!
I am sharing what I ate in a day simply to help with meal ideas! Know that these are MY macros. What might work for me does not guarantee the same results for YOU.

Currently, I am working my way up to maintenance from a recent deficit. I’m hoping to keep pushing my calories up while maintaining at around 143 lbs.

I’ve got some major beef with the phrase, ā€œNew Year, New Meā€ this time of year.

Inevitably this phrase is specifically referring to the way that we look.

…and changing everything about it.

This beef between us runs deeeeeep.

What is the ā€œnew youā€ going to be?

If we are only able to come up with ā€œgoalsā€ that include our weight, appearance, a number on the scale; we are missing the mark.

ā€œThis year, I am going to lose 10 lbsā€
ā€œThis year, I am going to cut out all sugarā€
ā€œThis year, I want to weigh 125 lbsā€

We have got to stop looking at our health/fitness goals in the short term. Sure, we might lose 10 lbs- but did we find a healthy way to get there? One that focused on supporting a healthy relationship with food? Or one that deepened our fears around food and pushed us further into restriction?

I want to come from a place of love and appreciation for what my body provides me. I want to appreciate what it CAN do. We need to be curious about what we can do to take our bodies to their fullest potential. This leads to so much more gratitude and gratefulness for a body that feels its best when it’s strong, cared for, and ready to push beyond any self-limiting boundary.

What CAN your ā€œnew youā€ be?

Let’s work on prioritizing qualities that actually make us a better human- One that is more compassionate and kind to our body.

Let this new you spend time sleeping, eating, and moving more!

This new you deserves more time paying attention to healing what’s on the inside.

A new you CAN be, s.t.r.o.n.g.

Let’s give our bodies what they need to thrive at their full potential.

Once we can heal what’s on the inside and creating REAL behavior change, this is more easily reflected on the outside with permanence. It won’t just be fleeting- coming and going with each ā€œnew yearā€ that starts as another uphill battle.

I am done with this narrative that we need to change how we look on the outside FIRST above all else.

When holidays and events approach and we start to worry about the next spiral ā€œout of controlā€, eating everything in sight- somethings gotta give.

Here’s the thing: FOOD IS MEANT TO BE ENJOYED- there are so many experiences that we have with others with food involved. I, for one, want to be present in those moments with family and friends. I’d really hate to miss those connections because my fear has taken over.

… it’s not just about eating all the ā€œhigh proteinā€ versions of everything to be considered ā€œhealthyā€.

Addressing our nutrition should be about building awareness and a better understanding of how to fuel ourselves for different goals and different seasons of life, and some of those seasons mean being more flexible and not super-focused on food.

Your thanksgiving should IDEALLY look like the first example.

Let’s stay away from the second example:

Going ā€œall or nothingā€ on Thanksgiving because it’s untracked or considered a ā€œcheat dayā€, then beating yourself up and self-sabotaging through the entire weekend. You might think, ā€œscrew it- I’m going to just keep this going. It doesn’t matterā€. This leaves you filled with disappointment, guilt, and feeling stuck in a cycle you don’t need to be caught in.

With that- HAPPY THANKSGIVING 😊

Eat the turkey, eat the pie, and enjoy making memories!

Grateful is an understatement!

It’s been an absolute honor, pleasure, and privilege to work with my amazing, hardworking, and driven clients!

Because of their trust in me, I have been able to live out my dream of sharing my passion for health and fitness with others.

Physical progress, whether it’s an increase in strength, physique-related, improved endurance, etc. is an amazing outcome. But- we can’t forget about the process it took to get to the outcomes we desire.

THAT’S what it’s all about.

I am so passionate about seeing my clients grow through implementing what they are learning- much of that process does not just include the use of tools/advice but is about growing through what is learned about themselves.

Life is going to throw you a ton of curveballs! So many parts expect much out of us (more than we might be able to give), and it can be challenging to find a place for all the priorities in our lives.

It’s challenging to find that RHYTHM.

But- it’s not that you aren’t able to grow, change, or reach those goals that you have; it’s about having the right support, accountability, and plan that creates the life that you LOVE and WANT to participate in.

If you want to learn how to create a life that best serves you and supports you in the person you WANT to be, then you need to apply for coaching by visiting kseymourfitness.com or sending me a FB message!! Let’s do this!!

What if we didn’t have to be ā€œall inā€ on one thing or another: low carb, high carb, grass-fed, pro-macros, anti-macros,, high-fat, elimination, non-dairy. The list goes on.
⁣
We need to lean more on what our individual needs are more than following nutrition ā€œrulesā€.

I truly believe that tracking macros is beneficial for most.

For those who find it helpful, they learn that it’s a sustainable approach that helps them work towards a positive relationship with food and bodies.

Awareness of intake is built rather than the obsession of tracking. If we spend too much time worrying about the list on the left and not about the list on the right, we start to miss the point.
⁣
While I DO talk about and support my clients with the details on the left, they don’t impact progress AS much as:

Consistency
Sustainability
Management of stress/biofeedback
⁣⁣
There are times when the left might need to be dialed in a bit more depending on the goal, but if we obsess over those small things- THAT’S when the whole idea of tracking macros becomes consuming.
⁣⁣
⁣Positive eating habits don’t come from micromanaging everything you’re eating.

They come from discovering a way to make your nutrition work seamlessly with your lifestyle, learning to fuel your body consistently, and making these habits ones that are sustainable and not just another set of rules to live by.
