**SANDRA ZIMMERLI IS BRINGING ZIMMERLI SHOW JUMPING TO RICHMARK FARM**
RICHMARK Farm will be under the management of Sandra Zimmerli and family beginning May 2020.
Sandra Zimmerli is a young professional based out of Northern VA, whose primary focus is show jumping. Sandra has many wins and top placing in the open jumper classes including Grand Prix, welcome stakes, and USEF Championship events. This past year, Sandra competed and earned top placings, including a podium finish, at the Longines Masters of New York CSI 2*
In her junior years, Sandra competed at the highest levels of junior jumper competitions. She gained valuable experience competing at shows such as Washington International, Harrisburg, and The North American Young Riders Championship. Her love for horses and the show jumping sport compelled her to stay focused on her passion. She formed Zimmerli Show Jumping and has continued to train her competition horses, young horses, clients and their horses for competition, as well as provides riding lessons to students of all levels.
Sandra’s training ability has caught the eye of others who have described Sandra as “wise beyond her years”. She has trained students of all levels but her true joy is preparing her students and their horses for competition, ensuring they will be the very best they can. Sandra has been her younger sister, Shelly’s, primary trainer for most of Shelly’s riding career. Sandra has trained and taken her sister from competing in local jumper shows and eventing trials to competing at top level junior competitions including North American Young Riders and Prix Des States – North American Junior Jumper Championships. Sandra was only 19 years old when she stepped up to coach her sister to top finishes at the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) in the 1.30M Junior/AO Jumper Division alongside many of the top riders and trainers in the country.
Sandra has also had much success with buying and selling horses for herself, as well as for clients. She has taken several trips to Europe searching for the “right” horse to bring back for herself to train and for her sister to compete within the very competitive junior jumper division. She has been told by many that she has a great talent of matching horses to the rider’s ability and/or aspirations. Sandra’s horses have been sold to individuals of all riding levels within America and Canada.
Sandra displayed her love for horses at the early age of two. She began riding lessons at the age of five and from that moment on she found her true passion. At the age of 9 Sandra got her first pony and immediately set her eyes on competing. She was fortunate to have excellent guidance and quickly learned how to care for her pony and began her career in the sown ring. To this day, Sandra personally cares for her horses on a daily basis, alongside trusted staff, and overseas all aspects of their care. Through the last several years, Sandra has expanded her barn management experience, learning from other professionals, and continuing to hold herself to the highest of standards.
