Had an extraordinary day playing in the 2026 Spring Stroke Play at the Links at Perry Cabin, a Pete Dye Design. A bogey free 2 under 70 to tie for 5th was a pleasant surprise start to the season. Thanks to and everyone who made this tournament possible.
Behind the results and fun action photos most people don’t see what it takes for me to get my body to cooperate in order to compete at this level. I was attempting to practice and play leading up to this event but nagging back and neck injuries had me leave in the middle of a Saturday practice round with a member to start treating my neck and ribs. Ice, muscle stimulation, stretching PT, Neck traction, anti-inflammatories and rest. Rinse and repeat. In the middle of my warm up Monday I paused to use my massage gun to keep my neck muscles front locking up. I also live with a congenital heart condition that required open heart surgery 6 years ago that limits my activity, autoimmune that affects my energy and joints and classic migraines headaches that can temporarily impair my vision, cause light and sound sensitivity and nausea. Some days are better than others. I’ll keep at it until I can’t. Now what’s possible…?Photo credit .smithers
