Hi, I have seen some new followers to my page lately so I thought I would introduce myself.
I am Stephanie Rihn certified ISR instructor. I was born and raised in Castroville Texas before teaching ISR lessons. I worked as RN in hospital settings medical surgical, and the operating room plus several years of Medina Valley ISD as a school nurse.
Besides teaching ISR lessons, I enjoy sewing crafting and reading. Since we live close by to our two married children, and our five grandchildren, much of our time is spent with family and attending our grandchildren’s activities.
I fell in love with ISR when I saw one of my grandsons in his ISR lessons. I knew this was something I wanted to do to help my community. I’ve been teaching ISR self rescue lessons for eight years and I love what I do the best part of teaching ISR lessons is seeing my students gain confidence in their skills and having fun. I cannot wait to see what amazing things my students will show me!

Why do we celebrate face-in swimming? 🥳

Because swimming with the head lifted high above the water (otherwise known as doggy paddling 🐶) is tiring and inefficient! When the head comes up, the hips and legs tend to drop. When the hips and legs drop, the body creates more resistance. More resistance means more effort just to get to the air 😮‍💨 For children, that extra effort can quickly lead to fatigue which compromises their safety.

Learning to swim with the face in the water promotes a more streamlined body position and helps children move farther while using less energy 🤍🧘

That’s not just better swimming…it’s safer, smarter swimming. 🤗

This little one just started crawling and exploring. In just a few lessons, she has learned to find her float to breathe if she finds herself in the water alone!!
