Another fantastic class today! This is the part of the season where Miss Rowdie runs everyone through the basics and places students where they can truly shine. Dance is about sooo much more than just the steps! We want everyone to be in a place where they are the best “them” that they can be. Some dancers need a challenge… some like feeling comfortable. And some like to have classmates that can support or push them. It’s truly my favorite time of year! Getting to watch personalities and confidence bloom. 🥰

First Class Of The Season!! We have a perfect mix of new and familiar faces and everyone did a great job today. We saw friendships formed, new skills already being learned and plenty of smiles. No first day jitters to be found! We are looking forward to a wonderful season!

We are very excited to announce that two of our dancers will be performing in The Children’s Ballet of San Antonio - The Nutcracker in December! Our Miabella Rodrigues, Level 3, is performing in her first production with TCB and did wonderfully at very first audition today. Auditions can be nerve wracking but she did great!! Our Rebelle Johnson, Level 4, will be joining TCB for her 4th production! She’s performed 7 roles over the 3 seasons and loved every moment! These ladies will be rehearsing every weekend along side of semi pro and professional dancers, like Miss Rowdie, culminating in a beautiful performance in early December! We hope we have lots of supporters in the audience those nights!!

Now for clothing. For level 1 and 2, leotard and tights… any color, like in the left photo. Skirt or no skirt. It’s up to you. But tights are mandatory! For levels 3 and 4, leggings and a fitted top are fine, as Miss Rowdie shows on the right. She’s wearing a leotard with leggings over it. That works very well. They can also wear leotard and tights, of course. But socks are mandatory!! Remember, the clothing fit serves a purpose, it’s not just for aesthetics!

We’ve had questions about dance shoes so I thought I’d show some examples! We only allow tap shoes with Velcro. Or slip ons. Any design is fine! Just no buckles or ties. Ballet shoes come in all types of “pink”… they are all fine. If you find some with no tie on the top, even better! And last, for our upper levels, jazz shoes. They, too, come in different tans. They are all fine!
