Ask a Trainer Part 1: How do I use a cable seated row?

Our trainers are going to be sharing tips on how to get the most out of your workouts and the equipment on our floor! If there’s something you’ve always wondered about or a machine that feels intimidating, drop it in the comments and we’ll try to cover it (:

First up is the cable seated row on our new cable machine. It’s one of those moves that looks straightforward but makes a big difference when you do it right. You’re pulling the cable toward your lower abdomen and driving your elbows back… the goal is to feel it in your mid back, not your arms. If your shoulders are creeping up toward your ears you’re letting your arms take over. Think about keeping your shoulders down and squeezing your shoulder blades together at the end of each rep.

Our new class studio is NOW OPEN!

We’re still working on getting it live on Apple and Google Maps, but you can now find all group classes at 3160 Castro Valley Blvd.

This move gives our classes their own dedicated space. A setup built specifically for group training from start to finish.

Also starting on Monday, we’ll begin building out an expanded strength training area at our Heyer Avenue location. We’re adding additional racks, dumbbells, adjustable benches, new cable machines, AND plate loaded hip thrust machines!!!

We are so happy to have Justine and Mariah joining our team here at Moxie. Both of them bring such sweet, approachable energy to our gym in their own unique ways. You’re going to love them! Here’s their class info - drop in and meet them on your mat sometime soon.

☀️ TUESDAY MORNINGS AT 6:30AM - Morning Flow with Justine. Start your day with with intention and movement in this slow-paced flow. This class is great for all ages and fitness levels and is especially beginner-friendly for newer yogis!

🧘‍♀️ TUESDAY EVENINGS AT 6:30 PM (starting later this month) - Slow Flow Yoga with Mariah. This class combines mindful movement with breath, offering a gentle sequence that promotes flexibility, strength, and relaxation at a slower, more intentional pace.
