As the sunsets on this last day of August 2026....a little reflection on the rodeos so far this summer.
(Yes, we still have ONE more rodeo on Saturday September 5 @ 7:30)
The 3-mile dirt road drive, to a peaceful mountain top location, (that an Oklahoman told me a 'puffer' vest or coat was need every night of the year), brings you to Pond Hill.
Cowboys and cowgirls have come to compete from 20 different states, and Canada!!!
We have had well over 1,000 competitors this season!!
Ranging from a first-time grand entry ride for a 7-year-old to a first-time bull ride for a 67-year-old!
Visitors have come from almost every state in the USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, France, Mexico, and I know I have forgot some!
The sun has shined, we have gotten a little wet, jackets have been worn, and yes, we have sweat.
Sunsets and moon rising that can only be painted from above.
Many first have been made, whether a first barrel racing run, or a first bull ride, or maybe even a first time at the rodeo!
Many dreams have been crushed, you've been bucked off, missed roping, knocked a barrel, got disqualified.....BUT you have lived a part of your dream!!!
Dreams have also been made! A 8 second qualified ride! A second faster time than the week before, you roped your first calf!
Our Grand entry is something AMAZING to watch!!! Almost a 100 horses with riders of all different ages, and experiences ride in! Every color horse you can imagine (some even painted pink!)
The beautiful colored western outfits, reflecting of cowboys and cowgirls of years past!
The National Anthem with cowboy hats held over hearts, and everyone standing before we start.
The playing of Roy Rodgers "Happy Trails" ends the night.

Thank you for coming and staying with us, we have ONE more night to enjoy and crown our champions! Don't miss it, and come ride with us!

Our bullfighters take some hard hits throughout the season! This past Saturday was no exception. We are grateful to say that Justin Campanelli will be "ok", he got a concussion and some stitches in the forehead with a collarbone dislocation, but with the grace of God that is all!
Luke has also got some tough hits this year!
We can't thank them enough for all they do to save the cowboys, while putting their own bodies in danger!
