I’ve had the Springfield mile marked on my calendar all year as the one race I wanted to be at. I made a call to a couple months prior to the race and he immediately jumped on board with his kawi 750 for me to ride. and Tim Criswell spent many nights in the shop with me prepping the motorcycle and everything else we needed to go and I can’t thank them enough for the help and support. Also big thank you to my mom and dad, Jim Stump, and Jim Terchila for always having my back and doing anything needed to get me to the racetrack.
The weekend was a lot of fun, I was confident I could do well but wasn’t sure where I stack up after not racing American Flat Track all year and throwing my leg over a new motorcycle. I felt better each time on the track, unfortunately missed the first main event by half a wheel. We talked everything over and made some adjustments to myself and the bike. Went back on track and felt much better finishing P8 in the heat race getting myself a spot in the second main event. Didn’t get the best of starts but pushed hard through the long main event and worked my way up to P14 to finish the day. Happy to finish the day strong and know I gave it all I had every time on the racetrack.
I’d like to thank everyone else that helped make this possible for me. It was a lot of work but made a lot easier by these awesome people!
