Two additional dates for our Youth Firearm Safety classes!

June 24, 10 AM - 12:30PM
August 12, 10 AM - 12:30 PM

Kids and parents will learn the importance of firearm safety, the basic functions of guns and ammunition and receive hands-on instruction with AIR RIFLES from certified Range Safety Officers.

This is a free event, and a free hot dog lunch is provided! So join us, register today!

Air rifles and pellets provided by the range. Please do not bring your own fi****ms or air guns to the event.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check-in. Registration is required, as there is limited seating.

Let's all take a second to thank the Cowlitz County Parks & Rec Maintenance team for coming out to build a new airgun range for our events! We no longer need to share a range, this is dedicated to the Youth Firearm Safety program. Cowlitz Public Shooting Range is growing!

Taking a kid hunting for the first time this season? Do they still need their Hunter Safety certificate? Cowlitz Public Shooting Range is holding a Hunter Ed class on June 3rd. This class is for the Field Skills Evaluation portion of the online class.

We've set our dates for 2023! Come join us for a free firearm safety instruction and air gun practice.

This class is designed for beginner students under 18 years of age. This class teaches the basics of firearm safety in a safe setting, monitored by certified Range Safety Officers and taught by a certified Instructor!

This class is not associated with the WA State Hunter Education.

The first class will be May 27th, 10AM. The class is limited to 60 students. Parents must attend. There will be a free hot dog lunch!

The first Hunter Education class at Cowlitz Public Shooting Range will be on February 4, 2023. This is the Field Skills evaluation course for anyone who has completed the online course.

The course is free, but there is a refundable $20 deposit to hold your spot. Register below, and be sure to read all the details.

A quick update! We're working on planning dates for 2023. Preliminarily we're planning dates in May, June and August. Stay tuned for more details.

Also, we will be doing Hunter Ed classes in 2023, at Cowlitz Public Shooting Range. We're working on this schedule now, and have a full team of instructors. Make sure to follow for more info!
