Jr Greco didn’t go as well as we would’ve liked but our guys got some valuable mat time and finished with a 5-3 record! They start their freestyle portion of the duals tomorrow and we’re looking to make some adjustments and improvements moving forward!

Getting messages like this makes me happier than any victory on the mat. We talk about being good people ALL the time at our club and I often wonder if anyone is really listening. Well this is proof at least one person is. In an individual sport like ours it’s easy to get caught up with being selfish or picking on those who aren’t as talented but what I’m trying to do in our room is make everyone feel welcome from our best to our worst wrestler. We may crack jokes and make fun but at the end of the day I’m creating an environment where everyone is rooting for each other and there’s no jealousy or envy amongst us! Super proud of Will and hope more kids are following his lead not only as a wrestler but as a person!

Back to regular practice times this week, but no practice on Thursday! Also next week we start our two a days!!! This is the time of year to make gains!

It’s the Jrs turn now!!! On their way to Milwaukee the Sly Fox crew stopped by Red Cobra Wrestling Academy and got to hang with my guy Chad Red for some last minute weight cutting. Hopefully these guys can go out and perform well this week!

And that’s a wrap for 16U National Duals! Jake Amiott and Liam Smith finished the freestyle portion of the event undefeated both going 6-0, to make the All Tournament team! For the week they both went 13-1! Jake’s wins were all pins or techs! I’m super proud of the progress we’ve made with these guys in the 🦊 🕳️ this spring/summer! Great results but we know there’s still work to be done. Excited to get back home and get to work with these two and the rest of the crew!

That’s a wrap for 14U National duals for my Sly Fox boys! Bentley Weaver went 6-3 in both freestyle and greco while Will Moorhead went 7-2 in greco and 6-3 in freestyle! Overall a good showing by both young men but we have some things to fix when we get back in the 🦊 🕳️ Now to get these fools ready for USA Kids nationals at the end of the month!

Our 16U Sly 🦊 boys finished up greco competition at the National Duals today with both Jake Amiott and Liam Smith going 7-1 in greco! The 14U boys got started with freestyle today with both Will Moorehead and Bentley Weaver going 4-1 on the day! We’ve been working hard this spring and summer and we’re starting to reap the benefits! The job is never done but I’m super proud of our guys for doing what most of our local kids aren’t doing. In this day and age it’s so easy to just follow the crowd but these kids are chasing competition not popularity!

Bentley Weaver and Will Moorehead had a good start to their 14U Greco national dual tournament today going 4-2 and 5-1 respectively! They’re back at it in the am as Jake Amiott and Liam Smith start their 16U Greco national dual tournament tomorrow morning! Good job so far to our 14U boys and wish our 16U guys good luck!
