take a bow 🙇
Coming in 3rd overall and 1st place woman, with a record-setting time of 1d 2h 22m…she came to party.
You may notice she’s smiling in all the photos. I can tell you that wasn’t just for the camera, her enthusiasm for riding bikes and this community was a real shining star of the weekend.
Before the race even started, she offered to lead a women’s+ meet-and-greet that was well attended and even more appreciated. After that, she quickly established herself at the front of the race among a stacked field.
By the time she reached to start the “Death Star,” she was one hour behind eventual 2nd place , but she did not let him go quietly. Over the next 69 miles, she chased Dennis like one of those fast dawgs East Texas is known for. In the end, she had closed the gap to just 13 minutes. I would love to see the numbers from that section 🔥👀
She wasn’t done. The next morning, she signed up for the 42-mile inaugural .throwdown, where she placed 2nd.
It was a pleasure to watch Meaghan race and compete in our field. She is a fierce competitor, and that was on full display over 400 miles of East Texas piney woods. Equally notable was her contribution off the bike as an active, engaged, and enthusiastic member of the bikepacking community 🫶🏻
Congrats, and THANK YOU, Meaghan. We can’t wait to watch you on the Tour Divide this year.
