What is Yin Yoga? 🤍
Yin is an invitation to slow down.
Unlike more active styles of yoga, Yin is a quiet, meditative practice where poses are supported and held for several minutes. Instead of moving quickly from one posture to another, we allow time, gravity, and stillness to do the work.
With the muscles intentionally relaxed, Yin gently stresses the deeper connective tissues surrounding the joints—particularly the fascia, ligaments, and joint capsules—while encouraging mobility and body awareness.
But the benefits go beyond the physical.
✨ Encourages flexibility and joint mobility
✨ Creates space to slow down and reconnect with your body
✨ Cultivates patience, mindfulness, and stillness
✨ Can help shift the body toward a calmer, more restful state
✨ Beautifully complements strength training, Vinyasa, Pilates, and other active practices
At Bodhi Om Yoga, we practice a full 75-minute Yin class every Saturday at 11 AM, giving ourselves something we rarely receive during the week:
time to simply be.
No rushing. No performing. No need to be flexible.
Just breathe, soften, and stay awhile. 🤍
