Updates for the weekend of 2/14!
🎿Our crews have done everything they can to try to open Dreadnaught for the NCHS Alpine race this Friday & Saturday, but the weather didn't cooperate, therefore the race will be held on Boomerang.
đź’™The Snow Angel Foundation will be at the ski area all day Saturday 2/14, all are welcome to come up and say hi!
With the persistent warmer and drier than normal weather, we have decided to close Monday 2/16, to help retain the existing snow we have. (More snow dances are required!)
The press release regarding closing Monday is below⬇
🗞Casper, Wyoming (February 12, 2026) – Hogadon Basin Ski Area will be closed on Monday, February 16. This temporary closure is being made to support snow preservation efforts and to help manage operational costs during a period of limited terrain availability. Hogadon Basin is typically open for Presidents’ Day, and this one-time schedule change is intended to protect existing snow coverage and improve conditions as the season continues.
Hogadon Basin appreciates the understanding and support of the community as the ski area works to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for guests.
While the ski area will be closed on Monday, visitors are encouraged to join in the activities taking place this Saturday, February 14. The Snow Angel Foundation will be at Hogadon Basin promoting its safety campaigns. The visit coincides with the Natrona County Britt Farr Invitational Alpine Ski Races. Guests are welcome to ski into the evening while being mindful of the limited terrain that is currently open.
“We are all hoping for more snow and better conditions in the coming days,” said Ryan Butler, Superintendent of Hogadon Basin. “Our team will continue doing everything we can to make the most of the mountain.”
