Meeting Teton Royalty: Grizzly 610 and Her Newest Generation Highlights from last week in Grand Teton National Park!

There is nothing quite like spending time with one of the most famous matriarchs of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Born in 2006 to the world-renowned Grizzly 399, Grizzly 610 is now 20 years old and still going strong.

610 has raised 11 cubs over her lifetime—including a famous moment in 2011 when she adopted one of her mother's triplets! After surviving a vehicle strike in 2023, seeing her healthy, strong, and tenderly raising her two newest spring cubs is a true testament to the resilience of wild grizzlies.

Notice her blocky profile and the classic lighter "saddle" across her shoulders.

Look closely at her right eye in the close-up shots—you can see her distinct white facial scar/mark, one of her signature identifying traits!

Grateful for these quiet moments watching her navigate the willow flats with her little ones.
