✨ Spotlight Pose: Waterfall Pose (Viparita Karani) ✨

This restorative pose can help drain fluid from the lower extremities, decompress the lower spine, and promote relaxation.

🔸 How to practice:

1. Start by lying flat on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the yoga mat.
2. Press into your feet to lift your hips and slide a yoga block or firm pillow under your tailbone, if desired.
3. Engage your core to lift your feet toward the ceiling, fully extending your legs.
4. Flex your feet and keep your legs straight while relaxing your arms beside you with your palms facing up.
5. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing as you hold the pose for 1–3 minutes.
6. To release, slowly bend your knees and lower your feet back to the floor.
7. If using a block or pillow, press into your feet to lift your hips and gently slide the support out from underneath you.
8. To neutralize your spine, hug your knees into your chest to decompress your lower back.

This pose improves flexibility and attention while reducing anxiety by encouraging calm breathing and relaxation.

🔸 How to practice:
1. Start by kneeling on your yoga mat with your knees, ankles, and toes together, pointing straight back with your heels facing upward.
2. Exhale and gently sit back onto your legs, resting your hips on your heels.
3. Rest your hands on your thighs or bring them together in prayer pose.
4. Sit tall with a straight spine and adjust your hips until you feel comfortable.
5. Breathe slowly and steadily, gazing forward with your chin parallel to the floor.

May is Correct Posture Month, making Cobra the perfect pose to counteract slouching and long hours at a desk. This gentle backbend helps strengthen the back muscles, open the chest, and support better alignment throughout your day.

🔸 How to practice:

1. Start lying face down, legs extended, tops of feet pressing into the mat.
2. Place hands under shoulders, elbows close to your sides.
3. Press lightly into your hands and lift your chest, keeping hips grounded.
4. Roll shoulders back and down, gaze slightly forward.
5. Breathe deeply and hold for a few breaths before lowering.

✨ Spotlight Pose: Humble Flamingo ✨

This powerful pose delivers a deep hamstring stretch while strengthening the core, upper body, and legs. As you fold forward, you create space through the spine—supporting spinal health, improving posture, and enhancing overall mobility

🔸 How to practice:

1. Start in Pyramid Pose with your left foot forward and right foot back, both legs straight and hips squared
2. Fold over your left leg and walk your hands back, placing them on the floor
3. Turn your fingertips toward the back, shift weight into your front foot and fingertips, then lift your back heel and draw it toward your glutes
4. Find balance by bringing your back knee close to your front knee, keeping hips low and core engaged
5. To release, slowly lower your back foot down and return to a forward fold before switching sides.
