The kids showed up on Saturday a day early and practiced off and on while 1A Schools shot their Tournament until 7:00pm when they told us to go home. They showed back up at 6:30 am the day of the tournament to practice even more. Our school was on the practice range more than any other school. Their dedication to prove they are Team to watch out for.
There was a total of 768 shooters in our 2A High School State Championship. With 31 schools. They took 2nd place at State our first year out.
We shared our field with another team. Squad 1 consisted of one Senior Dylan Cramer, 3 juniors Connor Finch, Tanner Stonger, and Carson Walker and a freshman Braxton Dickerson. Braxton earned his upperclassmen’s respect when he finished with a 99 for the day.
Our school shot 50 rounds, then the other school shot their 50.
When our first squad walked back to the line our viewing area was full of people we didn’t know. They came to watch our team because of their first score card that was turned in. Out of 250 possible birds they only missed 8. On their second score card out of another 250 birds they only missed 9. The applause and respect our first squad got from their teammates and parents and other teams competing against us that came to was them finish was unexplainable.
