What a beautiful weekend it was in our tiny Southern Illinois town 🎡🎠🎢

We had so much fun walking, dancing, & giggling in the Free Fair Parade, as we do every year, and we can’t wait to do it again 💜

Miss Grace is officially settled into her new job & city ✨

So, we guess it’s time that we we praise her for the incredible 4 years she spent with us 💜

During her time at Arabesque Dance Studio, Grace taught several, exciting Recital routines and many award-winning competition team solos, duets & groups. She assisted the last four years of our Studio Line & helped bring our entire team to the World Dance Championships in 2025. In 2026, she received a Choreography Award and had all of her groups re-compete at our Nationals Finals.

BUT her success is not measured in the “wins.” It was measured by the amount of love she shared with our dancers. Between the craziness, the chaos, and the cheerful memories, we gained a bestie, a role model, & someone to continue cheering on 📣

Gracie Lafeber, you’re already so so missed but know that you always have home, here, in Southern Illinois. A home full of people who love you so much & can’t wait to support you through every next chapter 📖🥂🥹

World-class dreams can begin in small communities 🌎✨

Every year, young dancers across Southern Illinois walk into one of our studios, take their place at the barre, and begin the quiet, disciplined work of training in ballet. Our 2026 production of The Nutcracker is a celebration of that work—and of what can happen when a community chooses to invest in its own young people. 🫂

Our ballet production features local youth from across Southern Illinois, trained throughout the year by Ms. Sarah and Mr. Will, who bring a combined 30 plus years of ballet teaching experience in the Cecchetti and Vaganova techniques 🩰

They are in the studio with them every week—teaching classes, providing individual corrections, developing technique, and building confidence for the next step . . .

For some Arabesque students, that “next step” has included advanced and professional training opportunities in St. Louis, Miami, New York City, Dallas, and beyond.

That is why supporting local arts MATTERS ‼️

🎟️ A ticket purchased here helps create opportunities HERE!
👏 Applause given here encourages a young artist HERE!
❤️ A full audience shows these dancers that their own community believes their work is worth seeing.

This Christmas, we invite you to enjoy a timeless holiday tradition while celebrating the remarkable talent being nurtured right here at home! 🏠
