As some of you may know, I, (coach Carnes) and coach Turner informed the girls and parents 2-3 weeks ago that we were stepping down at the conclusion of the season. We had 5 kids that’s been a part of this team for all 7 years, 3 more that had been with us 5 years, and 2 more for atleast 2. We’ve had a few great players that moved on from us early but the turnover for us has almost been nonexistent. Had girls age up then come back to us when we moved up the following year. Parents have been phenomenal and a huge part of our success over the years. Everyone of these kids have the ability to play at the next level and we expect nothing less to happen. They are all great players, but more importantly, great students with big hearts!! Blessed is an understatement!
Heading into this last week of TC SE Nationals and ATL legacy, we knew emotions would be high, or low, depending on how we attacked it. We had a great week at TC, earning a 3rd place finish. I think we kind of ran out of gas and limped into Legacy, knowing we had just a few more days together, it was tough on us all.
I will forever be grateful to our parents for allowing us to coach their kids, the way they were always willing to do whatever was needed of them is so appreciated. It takes a village to be successful in this game, starting after 8u allstars and holding it together till now is a feat in itself. Being as successful as we were for all those years is special.
From 10u, as Georgia Blast, 3 years as Force Elite and these last 2 years representing The Georgia Impact Organization.... it’s been a fantastic ride, and we made memories that will last a lifetime. We love these kids, past and present, wish nothing but the best for these players and former players.
It’s bittersweet, we’re heartbroken but proud, sad but excited, and expect all these players to keep working and eventually reaching their softball goals! We will be here for anything needed for these young ladies and hope they know just how much they mean to us. ❤️🖤
Now our top priority is finding these studs new homes.
