LOOK UP! 🌕️ July’s Full Buck Moon rises today, July 29, reaching peak illumination at 10:36 a.m. ET. (Yes, a.m. is correct!)

The Full Moon in July is called the Buck Moon because the antlers of male deer (bucks) are in full-growth mode at this time. Bucks shed and regrow their antlers each year, producing a larger and more impressive set as the years go by.

Plants are also featured prominently in July’s Moon names. Some of our favorites are Berry Moon (Anishinaabe), Moon When the Chokecherries are Ripe (Dakota), Month of the Ripe Corn Moon (Cherokee), and Raspberry Moon (Algonquin, Ojibwe).

🚨Ranch weather update! We’re fine! Here is a post from our immediate north neighbors .

Martin Ranch Management at Carta Valley, TX received 2.00" of rain on July 14, 2026. So far today (Wednesday) we have received 0.61". Total rain for 2026 is now 17.38".

No flooding in the immediate vicinity of our HQ; however, major flooding 15 miles to the east. Our soil is saturated, and any additional rainfall will likely produce flash flooding.
