Tom Porta and I delivered the check to the Veteran's Guest House from this Year's Golf Tournament. This year, we were able to present the check in the amount of $17,100. Well, Tomorrow is a big day as I (and Tom) host the 7th Annual Al Porta Memorial Golf Tournament at Silver Oak Golf Course. All proceeds go to the Veteran's Guest House in Reno on behalf of Mr. Al Porta, a military veteran who was a WWII fighter pilot who dedicated thousands of hours volunteering at the VA Hospital and the Veteran's Guest House. www.veteransguesthouse.org. The Guest House is a place where military veterans and their families can stay for free (or any donation) while receiving medical treatment at the VA Hospital across the street. This place is AMAZING and I am proud to put this tournament with Al's son Tom Porta, for such a great event, a great cause, and on behalf of a great man, Mr. Al Porta.

SIDE NOTE: Not a fan of putting together goodie bags. Haha. But, worth it. :)

There is 7 days left to get the regular entey fee of $85. After September 25th, the entry goes to $95. There is still some room to play. If uou can't play and would like to donate a raffle item or Sponsor a hole, please call me at 775-232-8534 for details. Hole Sponsors are $250 which will have your name or business on a sign on one of the holes. A great way to advertise uour business. Thank you to those who have already sent in their info and hope to see more people join in on the fun October 5th.

Welcome to the Al Porta Memorial Golf Tournament page. I figured this would help spread the word on this great event that I put on every year in honor of a military veteran named Al Porta. On behalf of Mr. Porta, the proceeds from my tournament are presented to the Veterans Guest House in Reno, Nevada. The Veteran's Guest House is a non-profit organization that provides a "Home away from Home" at no cost to military veteran's and their families while receiving medical treatment across the street at the VA Hospital. This years tournament will be held on October 05, 2019, at Silver Oak Golf Course in Carson City, Nevada. The cost of the tournament is only $85.00. The tournaments success directly relies on the number of players we get but the majority comes from raffle ticket sales, raffle items, and additional monetary donations. This year, I'm going to work on sponsorships where businesses can contribute by sponsoring a hole. More info to come on this.

In the meantime, please consider playing in the tournament. It will be first come, first serve and is limited to 144 players. So, please complete the Entry form and send the tournament costs to the address on the entry form. If you cannot make it and wish to donate, please contact me and I'll fill you in on what to do. Thank you in advance and hope that you all will help me spread the word on the great tournament for a great cause and on behalf of a great man.
