This past weekend, the Peninsula Soccer Officials Association was honored to support the Kickin’ It For Cancer Tournament hosted by the ⚽🎗️

Thank you to all of our dedicated referees who gave their time, professionalism, and energy throughout the weekend. Your commitment ensures not only a well-run tournament, but a meaningful one.

A special thank you to our mentors who worked alongside our newer officials. Your guidance, teaching, and encouragement are critical in developing the next generation of referees. Tournaments like this are more than just games — they are classrooms, leadership labs, and opportunities to grow.

🎗️ This event is organized to raise awareness and funds to support cancer research and cancer-related organizations. Since its beginning, the vision has been simple yet powerful — to help one day find a cure for cancer.

All proceeds (after tournament expenses) are donated to charitable organizations such as the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life.

This tournament is about more than competition. It’s about coming together as a soccer community to stand with those affected by cancer, to support the fight, and to show that the game we love can make a difference beyond the field.

We are proud to be part of a community that shows up — not just to officiate and compete — but to serve a greater cause.

The position of the ball for a corner kick is correct as long as part of the ball touches the corner area OR touches or overhangs the corner arc (line) in the air.
Law 17 does NOT require that the ball:
is wholly inside the corner area
touches the corner arc
If the ball touches the ground outside the corner area, with part of the ball overhanging the corner arc, its position is correct.
