There’s something special about a Friday night at Hensley Field.

Tonight, we snuck into the outfield for a few minutes and watched Carrollton Warriors Baseball Coach Colton Newell work through infield drills with some of the next generation of Warriorball players.

Carroll County Youth League
Young players. Dirty cleats. Ground balls. Repetition after repetition. Learning the game. Learning how to work.

And maybe they don’t realize it yet, but these are the nights that build what comes next.

The work you put in now will reward you someday when you get your chance to step onto Hensley Field wearing CARROLLTON across your chest.

Because Carrollton Baseball has always been about more than talent.

It’s about hard work.
It’s about toughness.
It’s about playing the game the right way.
It’s about being an incredible teammate.
It’s about representing your school, your family and your community with pride.

Every generation leaves something behind for the next one.

The tradition was built long before you.
Now it’s your turn to prepare to carry it forward.

Keep working, boys.

Carrollton Warriors Baseball Tradition - Where Hard Work Meets Hardware

The smell of the grass.
The sound of spikes on concrete.
The dust hanging in the air after a slide.
The faded seams on an old baseball.
The stories told from one generation to the next.

At Hensley Field, those stories run deep.

Brick dust. Grit. Toughness. Hensley Magic.

For decades, Carrollton Baseball has been built by players and coaches who understood that nothing was ever guaranteed. Every win, every championship, every trophy and every memory was earned through hard work, sacrifice and an edge that became part of the tradition.

Now, a piece of that history is coming home.

The Hensley Field Press Box will soon become the new home for Carrollton Baseball’s collection of trophies and championship hardware.

With the help of the Carrollton Athletic Department and several volunteers, we have been gathering trophies from throughout the program’s history, cleaning them, repairing them and preparing a place where generations of Warrior Baseball can be remembered and celebrated.

Some of these trophies have been around longer than many of our current players have been alive.

Each one has a story.

A team.
A season.
A group of teammates.
A coach.
A bus ride home.
A celebration.
A memory that somebody still talks about today.

We want the players who came before us to know that what they accomplished still matters.

And we want every young player coming through Carrollton youth baseball, travel baseball and our school programs to walk into Hensley Field, see that history and understand exactly what the uniform represents.

Someday, today’s players will be the old players telling the stories.

That’s baseball.

That’s tradition.

And that’s why we work.

Stay tuned as we begin bringing the history of Carrollton Baseball back together at Hensley Field.

Honor the past.
Carry the tradition.
Build the future.

Carrollton Warriors Baseball Congratulations to former CHS Baseball Coach Curt Hensley on an incredible and well-deserved honor — selection to the Ohio Sports Hall of Fame, Class of 2026! 🐐⚾️

Coach Hensley’s impact on Carrollton Baseball goes far beyond wins and championships.

During his 23 seasons as head coach from 1978–2000, Coach Hensley:

⚾️ Earned 360 career victories
🏆 Won 8 League Championships
📈 Coached 5 teams ranked in the Top 10 in Ohio
🔥 Led 3 teams to Regional Tournaments
🏅 Was named 7-Time League Coach of the Year
🏅 Earned Eastern District Coach of the Year honors in 2000
🏆 Was inducted into the Eastern District Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2005

But perhaps his greatest legacy is what he built for generations of Warriors who came after him.

In 1994, Coach Hensley spearheaded the development of the three-field complex that includes Carrollton’s current baseball and softball facilities. In 2011, the baseball field was fittingly named Hensley Field in his honor.

More than three decades after that complex was built, Hensley Field continues to be recognized as one of the premier natural-surface high school baseball facilities in the country.

Traditions don’t just happen. Someone has to build them.

Coach Hensley helped build the foundation, pride, toughness and tradition that Carrollton Baseball still carries today.

Congratulations, Coach Hensley. Much deserved.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made the Carrollton Warriors Baseball 3rd Annual Golf Outing, presented by Carrollton Eagles 2185, such a special day!

It was a picture-perfect day for 18 holes, but this outing has always been about so much more than golf. It’s about the stories, the laughs, the memories, and the brotherhood that baseball creates long after the final out is recorded.

Baseball has a way of bringing people together and building bonds that last a lifetime. Seeing so many friends, families, teammates, alumni, and supporters together reminded us exactly what it means to be part of the Warrior Baseball family.

Thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, sponsored, donated, and helped make the day possible. Your support means more than you know.

The games may end. The seasons may change. But the memories and the brotherhood live forever. ⚾️❤️
