A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued through 8pm tonight covering most of our forecast area, save for Muskingum/Coshocton (OH) Counties and Tucker (WV) County.

The main threat will be isolated to scattered instances of damaging wind (around 60-70mph), with smaller chances for large hail.

Remain alert to changing conditions and ensure you have ways to receive any warning (which highlights a more imminent threat) that may be issued for your location so you can take proper safety action.

Disclaimer:
The watch highlights the severe potential, but does NOT guarantee severe weather. Especially today, there will be locations within the Watch that don't even see rain, let alone a thunderstorm.

Any future warnings mean a high probability for that storm to produce severe weather. It does NOT guarantee everyone within that warning will see warning-level damage (and at times, even rain).

That's normal and a frequent occurrence during any severe weather event. But just because your location goes unscathed doesn't mean others did not.

So remain alert, have ways to get the latest warnings, and we hope everyone stays safe through this and any other future weather event.
