Today we celebrate our incredible team of dedicated patrollers who keep Liberty Mountain safe every single day. From first tracks to last chair, our crew is out there in all conditions—monitoring slopes, responding to emergencies, and ensuring every guest gets home safely.

Behind every great day on the mountain is a patroller who chose to be there—dedicating their time, honing their skills, and watching out for this community we love.

To our Liberty family: Thank you for your commitment, your professionalism, and the countless hours you dedicate to this mountain and its guests. You are the a core part of what makes Liberty special.

Here’s to the early mornings, the sunrises, the late nights, the challenges, the moments of pure joy, and to many more years! 🏔️💙

Banner year at the ! 🏃‍♂️🏔️

Over 50 of our members came out to provide first aid along the entire course. We’re incredibly grateful for this amazing turnout!

Nature kept us on our toes with overnight rain and dense morning fog, but the day cleared into perfect ultra-marathon conditions.

The day brought:
🚑 Two (2) energy intensive litter carries on Weverton Cliffs
🚴 Roving bike patrols maintaining coverage on the C&O Canal Towpath
📱 Full deployment of our new communication system for real-time coordination
💪 One epic team effort from 5:30am to 8:30pm

Huge shoutout to our partners, all of the runners who chose to get out there and do hard things, our event leadership, our dedicated litter carry teams (who left it all on the trail), our stellar C&O Canal Towpath & Finish Line crews, and everyone who made this massive operation run smoothly.

Thank you to every single person who contributed – from setup to breakdown and everything in between. THIS is what teamwork looks like! 🙌

Today our team conducted a Multiple Casualty Incident (MCI) exercise patroller enrichment seminar in an off-trail environment, simulating a real-world emergency response with actual deployment of personnel and equipment.

Strong turnout, flawless ex*****on, and valuable lessons learned across the board. Every patroller walked away with important takeaways to strengthen our emergency response capabilities.

MCIs are serious events that can happen without warning. Training like this ensures we’re ready to respond when it matters most. You can never be too prepared.

🎖️ This , Liberty Mountain Ski Patrol honors those who have served our nation with courage and dedication.

We're especially proud of our connection to the legendary 10th Mountain Division - the elite alpine soldiers who not only defended our nation during but went on to shape modern skiing and ski patrol in . Their legacy lives on in every patroller who serves on our slopes.

From the snowy peaks of Italy in 1945 to the mountains we patrol today, the spirit of service, courage, and mountain craft connects us all. Many of our National Ski Patrol System Inc founders and members were 10th Mountain Division veterans who brought their military medical and skiing expertise to create the civilian patrol system we know today.

To all , especially those who continue to serve their communities through ski patrol: Thank you for your service, dedication, and the trails you've blazed for us to follow.

We had a SUPER special guest at our refresher weekend! Our friends at wellflight paid us a visit to show us their gear and to talk to about us about their staff and their operation. This was an absolute special treat and we are very thankful for their visit and their partnership and service!

On top of that, we kicked things off by hosting an OEC refresher at the mountain where over 170 patrollers convened to refresh their skills, be brought up to speed on new protocols, and to switch into patrol mode for the upcoming season.

From their we kicked off Season 60 right with a pizza party at where over 70 of our members (past and present) showed up to break bread and enjoy the company of all who were present.

We had our second annual fall camp out at where we enjoyed the fall colors, good food, mint sleeping weather, and good company.

We celebrated our members and all of the incredible work and service they’ve put in/dedicated to our patrol. With one of our members celebrating her 50th season as a patroller!!! 💪💪💪💪💪 Others having instructed for over 30 years across multiple disciplines. Lift evacuation and CPR refreshers went off without a hitch and we are now primed and ready for our historic 60th season!

Thank you so much to all of our members (past and present) and their family/people for their dedication and contributions, the mountain for their partnership, and to all of the guests to whom we get to serve day in and day out.

Here is to a very memorable season 60 and we are looking forward to sliding in snow with everyone!
