It’s that time of year folks!! Updated Flyer! 🥋🤼🏆
Hello Parents & Students,
Our martial arts school will be hosting its 7th Annual Rumble at the Park event (Tomol) on 4/18 (Sat). We will be hosting Taekwondo sparring and Wrestling matches (Tournament Style).
The event times are below:
-Ages 5-6yrs will start @ 10:30am-11:15am.
-Ages 7-8yrs will start @ 11:30am-12:30pm.
-Ages 9-12yrs will start @ 12:30pm-1:30pm.
-All teenagers will start thereafter and will be categorized together based on size.
All Taekwondo participants will need to be in full sparring gear (chest, protector, head gear, mouth guard, etc.) for sparring. All gear will be provided by our school except mouth guard. Each student will be given 1 min of sparring (no head contact), two rounds.
All Wrestling participants will need to be in clean gym clothing (t-shirt, shorts, or sweats pants). Singlets, grappling shorts, taekwondo uniforms, school shirts and wrestling shoes are acceptable wear. All Wrestling matches will be takedown only, score will be kept, 1 round matches, and winners will advance (tournament style).
Medals will be awarded for those who participate and top performers. All protective Taekwondo gear will be supplied except for mouth guard. Mouth guards can be purchased at any Big 5, online (Amazon), or purchased ($5) at the event.
Our goal is to provide an experience to help all our students development and growth through the experience of sparring (TKD & Wrestling).
Sportsmanship will be most important, we expect every parent and student to show the highest level of sportsmanship to all participants and helpers. There will be zero tolerance (banned) for disrespect to anyone (students, parents, helpers, referees, or guests).
Our objective is to teach our students how to remain humble through victory, and how to show honor & respect during defeat. We will all have to lead by example (Administrators, Parents, and Guests).
This is a school sponsored event (Pizza, fruit, snacks, and water will be offered). As a thank you to all who value and support our services to this great Carpinteria community.
We will have a sign-up form and release of liability that will need to be completed for all students to participate. Paperwork will be handed out on Monday and you will have until Thursday to complete (4/16).
We hope to see all our students participate in this once in a year event! Please bring your own seating (chairs). And all our students under 5 are welcome to watch and observe this great event!
