Confirmation emails have been sent for our next Free Firearm Safety Course on Saturday, May 9th at the Broome County Sheriff's Office.

Attendee space in our Firearm Safety Classes is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you have already registered but could not attend due to a full class, your name will be at the top of the list for our next Firearm Safety Course when it is scheduled.



All course applicants are subject to a background check and approval by the Broome County Sheriff's Office.


Our Pistol Permit / Identification Office will be holding monthly weekend office hours on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM to process pistol permit applications and updates, gun registration, Sheriff Identification Cards and more. Once per month, community members now have an additional opportunity to take care of their pistol permit or other business if they are unable to stop in during regular business hours.

Cortland Pistol Club - awesome place to shoot. They also run 2 monthly matches. Participate and get some clout to show off to your friends! This is gonna be fun. If you’re interested in shooting competitions but haven’t yet, my advice: don’t wait. No time like the present

On behalf of the Cortland Pistol Club, we are excited to announce the 2026 Cortland Cup!

What is the Cortland Cup? It’s a series championship that will tally your finishes throughout our USPSA season at Cortland Pistol Club giving you the opportunity to win bragging rights and this trophy!

How does one win the Cortland Cup? Each match you attend at Cortland pistol club, you will
receive points based on where you finish within your division. For example, if you are in the
Carry Optics Division and there are 15 shooters in that division that match, you place first, you
will collect 15 points for that match, the second place finisher will collect 14 points and so on
until the last place finisher collects 1 point. This will go on throughout the entire 2026 season
and only include USPSA matches, not our steel challenge matches.

This series is especially lucrative for our shooters who regularly place in the top 5 in their division. Reason is, if you never win your division but the person who places above you either misses a match or scores worse than you on any given day, your points may very well exceed theirs at the end of the season.

At Cortland Pistol Club we are always trying to provide quality matches and inspire growth in the
sport locally. This series is our way to put a little skin in the game.

There are no additional requirements to enter the series, if you shoot at Cortland, you will be
automatically entered. We’re excited to see you all this season, and good luck to you all!
