Founded by local ministers and residents of Pleasure Island in 1985, the center was established to help meet growing needs of citizens in the community. The name “H.E.L.P Center” stands for “help establish love for all people.”

Since its creation, the Federal Point Help Center has grown leaps and bounds. Once interviewing clients in their homes and making direct food deliveries, the Federal Point

Help Center is happy now to call the Carolina Beach Recreation Center home. The center has helped residents in need of food, clothing, help with utility bills, rent and anything else it can afford. This center is a way to help residents of Pleasure Island who may not qualify for other assistance programs stay put in the community. The Federal Point Help Center is open 10-noon Monday through Friday and is located in the Carolina Beach Recreation Center, which is at 1121 N Lake Park Blvd # B Carolina Beach, NC 28428.

The Help Center of Federal Point helps local people through the support of local people.
You can be a part of our mission with donations of canned meats, canned vegetables, canned fruit, or financial contributions.
We accept donations at our location, 7 North 3rd Street, Carolina Beach, Monday through Friday between 10:00 and noon.

We are happy to report that The Help Center has received a check for $740. This gift was presented by Trey Culler of The Pleasure Island
Deadheads. What a great organizations and asset to our community.

Don't know why this hasn't received more publicity, but this fifty-foot sculpture was unveiled recently in South Dakota.
It's called 'Dignity' and was done by artist Dale Lamphere to honor the women of the Sioux Nation.

The interior of the Help Center has had a few improvements, in hopes that our clients feel more comfortable. We have added a small library with free material for both children and adults to enjoy.

After our first week of indoor interviews with our clients it appears all is going well. This will make a huge difference as the temperatures begin to climb. Thanks to everyone for the hard work preparing and initiating the revisited procedure. You were good sports. If you were a part of the roll out let us know what you think.

Beginning May 1 2023 the Help Center will again be accepting clients at the Raleigh Street door. We hope to make everyone more comfortable during their visit with
climate control and a place to sit.
