🎣We had a really good 4 hour trip yesterday! The Spanish mackerel is the best it’s been all summer. We could’ve stayed catching them all day , but our group opted to go catch some shark!!!! This crew definitely put the work in today! It started with live bait fishing for croaker before heading about 13 miles out to go for the target species of amberjack. They NAILED IT!! 🎣 We Need Your Help to Make Something Special Happen 🎣

A close friend reached out to us this week about her friend’s 12-year-old son. Right before Halloween he started limping and having pain, and what they hoped was just a pulled muscle turned out to be every parent’s worst nightmare. After X-rays and further testing, he was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer. He begins chemo this Thursday, and he will also be undergoing a full hip replacement.

Fishing is his absolute joy—his happy place—so he and his family came to Carolina Beach to let him spend some time on the water before treatment begins. We are donating a full trip for him, and we are not accepting a single dollar toward that.

But here’s where our fishing family can help:

If anyone feels led to donate even a few dollars, we want to take him to Island Tackle and surprise him with brand-new fishing gear tomorrow before he heads out on the boat. 🎁🎣

We promise to video the surprise and keep everyone updated on what we’re able to get for him. Let’s send this strong young man off to treatment with a heart full of joy and a reminder that he has an entire community behind him. 💙
