Sounds about right!
The weekend is almost here, so let's talk about the weather headlines for the next few days! It's hot & humid again, and that's not going to change over the next few days. So get used to it; summer in the South, after all.
📌Friday: Hot and humid with highs in the 90s for most areas outside of the mountains; heat index values in the low 100s. In the afternoon and evening, a front will bring isolated to scattered thunderstorms; coverage won't be widespread, generally 30-40% of the state or less. No washouts, and no reason to cancel plans; an isolated strong to severe storm with damaging winds can't be ruled out. NC State plays tomorrow evening, and I've gotten a million questions. I'll post separately later today about the forecast. It'll be fine generally, but we can't rule out a passing storm!
📌Saturday: The front will wash out and stall across the state; it is not really bringing cooler temps, though. Since the front will be around, expect partly sunny skies; a couple of AM showers across the state can't be ruled out, but no washouts. A few storms are possible statewide Saturday, but again, I don't expect a washout, and not everyone will even see rain. Highs will be in the 80s and 90s on Saturday.
Sunday onward: High pressure takes back control; highs will be in the 80s and 90s through mid to late next week, with limited rain/storm chances.
I'll update with more weekend details as usual, but hopefully this helps with planning!
