NEWS: Dreyer & Reinbold Racing announces it has purchased a charter from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing with plans to return to full-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES competition in 2027.

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing announced today that the team has purchased one NTT INDYCAR SERIES charter from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. The transaction is subject to INDYCAR approval. With the possession of a charter, DRR will return to full time with the NTT INDYCAR SERIES competition beginning in 2027 with a one car entry.

For Watkins Glen, both the No. 12 and No. 14 entries will compete under the Vasser Sullivan Championship Racing / Dreyer & Reinbold banner in tribute to Dennis Reinbold and in celebration of the longtime friendship and partnership he shared with Sulli and Jimmy.

Dennis’s passion for racing and commitment to the sport left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

We are heartbroken to share the news that our owner, leader, and friend, Dennis Reinbold, has passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. We ask you to join us in supporting the Reinbold family and respecting their privacy during this painful time.

Dennis was a proud son of Indianapolis. He built a successful family of automobile dealerships across the state, and he loved the community of Indianapolis that gave him so much in return. That same devotion fueled his passion for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway—its history and the relentless pursuit of an Indy 500 win drove him every day. We can think of no better way to honor Dennis than to chase a victory in the 111th Running of the Indianapolis 500.
