Week 8 – Halfway there!

We're officially 50% through the program! πŸŽ‰ This week: 5 miles Monday, cross-training Tuesday, 7 miles Wednesday, 4 miles Thursday, and a long run of 15 miles (Full) / 7 miles (Half).

Heads up, marathoners that long run jumps up more than usual this week. It's a bigger step than what you've seen so far, and that's by design. Slow your pace down, fuel early and often, and don't be afraid to break it into mental chunks. This is where the training really starts to test you and where you find out what you're capable of.

Rest up beforehand, and take care of your legs after. Halfway down, halfway to go β€” you've got this.

Week 7 – Staying steady

This week: 4 miles Monday, cross-training Tuesday, 6 miles Wednesday, 3 miles Thursday, and a long run of 10 miles (Full) / 6 miles (Half).

That double-digit long run is starting to feel a little more familiar, right? That's the training doing its job. Keep showing up, keep listening to your body, and keep trusting the process.

How are those long runs treating you these days?

Week 6 – Checking In: The Foundation is Set

This week: 4 miles Monday, cross-training Tuesday, 7 miles Wednesday, 5 miles Thursday, and a long run of 13 miles (Full) / 8 miles (Half).

By now, you should be feeling comfortable in your routine. We've spent the last five weeks building consistency and that work is paying off. The foundation is laid. Now it's time to build.

Let's keep going, CRC.

Week 5 – Dialing in nutrition

This week: 4 miles Monday, cross-training Tuesday, 6 miles Wednesday, 4 miles Thursday, and a long run of 11 miles (Full) / 7 miles (Half).

With the long runs stretching past the hour mark for a lot of you, now's a great time to start experimenting with race-day fueling β€” gels, chews, sports drinks, whatever works for your stomach. Test it on these training runs, not on race day.

What's your fueling strategy so far? Still figuring it out, or have you found your go-to?

We can't wait to see you tomorrow morning at 8am!
