We have the unique opportunity to have ice in the Arctic Zone from June 6th, 2022 through August 19th, 2022 (when the IYHA season starts).

I am putting together a summer camp which involves on-ice instruction, workouts in the gym, and access to the shooting and TV rooms at the Arctic Zone. The camps will be limited to 16 skaters per session with a “membership fee” of $1500 for skaters and $500 for goalies. The “membership” runs for the entire summer (June 6th through August 19th).

The basic framework would be as follows for June 6th to July 29th (8 weeks):

Monday and Wednesday 10U:

9am to 11am on ice
11am to 11:30am snack and getting gear off
11:30 to 12:30 off ice workout in the gym
12:30pm to 1:30 pm shooting cage and/or video room

Monday and Wednesday 12U:

10am to 11am off ice workout in the gym
11:30am to 1:30pm on ice 1:30pm to 2pm snack and getting gear off 2pm to 3pm shooting cage and/or video room

Monday and Wednesday 14U:

2:30pm to 1:30pm off ice workout at the gym
2pm to 4pm on ice
4pm to 4:30 pm snack and getting gear off
4:30pm to 5:30 pm shooting cage and/or video room

Tuesday and Thursday Girls:

9am to 11am on ice
11am to 11:30am snack and getting gear off
11:30 to 12:30 off ice workout in the gym
12:30pm to 1:30 pm shooting cage and/or video room

Tuesday and Thursday HS:
10am to 11am off ice workout in the gym
11:30am to 1:30pm on ice
1:30pm to 2pm snack and getting gear off
2pm to 3pm shooting cage and/or video room

Friday:

9am to 10:30am 10U scrimmage and games
10:30am to 12pm 12U scrimmage and games
12pm to 1:30pm 14U scrimmage and games
1:30pm to 3pm Girls scrimmage and games
3pm to 4:30pm HS/Midget scrimmage and games

For August 1st to August 19th (3 weeks), the framework would be as follows:

Monday and Wednesday:

10U on ice 4:30pm to 6pm
12U on ice from 6pm to 7:30pm
14U on ice from 7:30pm to 9pm

Tuesday and Thursday:

Girls on ice 4:30pm to 6pm
HS/Midget on ice from 6pm to 7:30pm

Again, this is a basic framework of how I envision the ice and workout schedule to be. Depending on interest and registrations, it could change slightly. Under this structure, each player would be on the ice 50+ hours from June 6th to August 19th. Justin Whited and I will be doing the bulk of the on-ice and off-ice instruction, supplemented with other “assistant instructors”.

I will need “verbal commitments” as soon as possible and no later than April 1st. Checks are due on April 15th. If you prefer to use Venmo instead of a check, my Venmo account is -Bozoian or you can use my phone number (734-775-8240). Checks can be

mailed to:

15816 Knighton Court Westfield, IN 46074

Coach Rick Bowness has benched young defenseman Thomas Harley (who was -2 yesterday).

Bowness: “The biggest thing for a young player is learning how to play the intensity up here. That’s all it is for him. It’s not his skillset, it’s not his mind. It’s the intensity in which you play the game up here, especially this time of year.

You can’t get pushed off pucks and give up goals. You’ve got to get back and move the puck, can’t turn it over. Those are details. Can he do those things? Absolutely. Does he have to raise his intensity to do those things? Yes."
