Crew chief and manager both out sick so no racing for me this weekend. But I did get to Victory SIM Experience today and got to run the Chicago street course in the Elite sim! It was a blast! The experience was fun and the staff was great!

What a night at Caraway Speedway! We worked so hard since moving to NC in April and just have not been able to get things to go our way. This week we came out to Caraway for a practice day and only got 30 laps of practice in before a vibration in the rear end started. We found a lot of good sized metal shavings in our gear oil so we bought a new gear, the old one has been suspect. We came to race day ready to race! We got out on track and we still had the vibration! My dad talked to Todd McCollum from Team 510 Racing who explained a lot about our drive shaft, and then loaned us one for the day. It fixed the vibration and we were able to race. In Qualifying I hit a new PR and earned 6th place, my best qualifying effort at Caraway so far. The car felt great and was a rocket for the Feature race as we broke our PR over and over again ending up with a 19.027 as our new best. After all the hard work and fighting for it, we came home with a solid Podium finish in P3 which is also a best for us at Caraway. After the race we enjoyed some time in the stands and handed out some legend car stickers to the little ones.

Good to be back in the car! Motor was nice and fresh. After about 40 laps we got our rear end vibration back, time to get her up on jack stands and figure out what's causing it. Can't wait to be back at Caraway this weekend.

The Summer Shoootout is a wrap and it was by far the biggest and most competitive event we have done. I learned so much about myself, our team, and racing in a big field. I wont say all these lessons were easy but at the end of it all I feel like we just kept getting better and better. It really reflected in our team meetings as we were sharing "The Wins" more and more each week.
Yesterday morning we got up early to help pull our motor with Mackintosh Race Cars. During Rd. 8 we started popping out of 2nd gear, turns out we broke the fork for our lower gears. Hopefully they can get our motor fixed up and refreshed soon, until then I have some time to work on my weekly preparation routine and finishing my workbook for "30 days to Mental Performance Mastery" by Brian Cain.
