The OKC cycling community lost a good one.

Al Webb opened the first Al’s Bicycles back in 1979, and over the years, he became a big part of cycling in Oklahoma City. He helped generations of riders get on bikes, find the right gear, and become part of the cycling community.

If you’ve been around bikes in OKC for any amount of time, chances are you know the impact Al and his shops had on this community. That kind of legacy doesn’t just disappear.

While we never knew him personally, we greatly appreciate the work he has done for the OKC cycling community. From all of us at Velo Star, our thoughts are with Al’s family, friends, and everyone who knew him.

Thank you for everything you did for cycling in Oklahoma. You’ll be missed, Al. ❤️

Aka Panhandle Penny 🤠, aka Penny Farthing 🚲, aka Lucky Penny ,and aka Lil Bean 🫘 — she’s already stealing hearts and making her mark on the team!

This little Vizsla girl has officially been promoted to Mia’s personal assistant 🐶✨ Her current responsibilities include providing emotional support, supervising all activities, being ridiculously cute, and keeping the team on its toes. We’re still working on her punctuality and snack budget. 😂

She may be little, but she’s got BIG Velo Star energy and we can’t wait to see her shine!⭐

Big shoutout to the Parks Law Firm Cycling Team for showing up and representing at Cycle 66. 👊

These guys were not only strong racers, but complete stand-up racers from start to finish. Competitive, respectful, and the kind of people who make the cycling community better.

We appreciate you guys and everything you bring to the races. Thanks for letting Velo Star be part of the day and for being a great example of what racing is all about.

🙌What a great day at Cycle 66 on Sunday! We had a blast being out there and soaking up the energy all day.🫶🚴🏻‍♂️

Big thanks to all the cyclists who came out and put it all on the line, everyone who came out to watch and cheer, and all of the support staff and volunteers who helped make the day happen.

And a huge thank you to the City of Edmond for supporting the event and helping make it such a great day for cycling.
