Wow, what a touching review from our client Jane! We are so grateful to support our clients as they work toward their goals and to be part of their journey along the way🐵💚
Jane's review:
"If you’re looking for an exceptional personal trainer, look no more.
After my diagnosis of osteoporosis at age 73, my doctor recommended I find supervised strength-training to improve my bone density and muscle strength, and balance exercises to prevent falls and fractures. I tried going to the physical therapy my health insurance provided, but found I did not keep up the exercises at home when it was over. Fit Monkeys addresses all of those goals, but so much more.
This skilled, experienced, and certified mother/daughter duo is knowledgeable, not only about osteoporosis; they also specialize in senior health problems. Our concerns can be interrelated, and have many conflicting symptoms. Traditional allopathic medicine often treats only the symptoms, and may not ever deal with an underlying cause.
Fit Monkeys begins by establishing a clear foundation upon which to build, particularly with pilates. They also use weights, yoga, and resistance bands. In the few months since I began working with Kelly, we established a few specific, yet doable, goals. I am impressed with her scientific, data-driven approach. She even showed me how to use a free app on my cellphone to track my progress daily. She keeps me accountable, checks my progress and homework at each session, motivating me, yet challenging me to do more. And it has paid off. Even in those few months, I’m noticing stronger muscle tone and strength in my core, arm and leg muscles. Better and longer balance. More confidence. Better absorption and metabolism of my nutrients (a specific problem that my allopathic doctors have yet to address).
I think what I truly appreciate about Fit Monkeys is their overall holistic approach to health. We are humans, not just physical bodies. Kelly treats the whole person, mind/body/spirit. She asks me if I’m sleeping; if I’m eating enough. What was my protein/fat/calorie count? Am I listening to my body? Where am I feeling this in my body? “This time is for you,” she says. Or,
“I’m really going to work you today!” She really listens. No wonder: she has a BA in Psychology.
We are people, not machines. She is compassionate. She knows it is hard to grow older, but also fun. She makes me laugh. How much is that worth? Everything."
