Thanks for everyone's amazing interest in the Viking Surf Team for the 20/21 Season!

REGISTRATION FOR THE SURF TEAM IS CURRENTLY CLOSED!

Mostly by word-of-mouth, over 80 families signed up their surfers to be part of the team on the first day we opened registration.

We have capped the roster so we can safely manage small groups of surfers at our camp sessions.

Please note that The Viking Surf Team is not affiliated with Carlsbad Unified or VMS. We partner with Scholastic Surf Series and welcome surfers who live in the 92008, 92009, & 92010 Zip Code Carlsbad areas.

Welcome Valley Viking Surfers! 2018-2019 Season to Begin Soon!!!

We are looking forward to another fun-filled and exciting year of surfing with friends! Join the Valley Viking Surf Team to learn how to surf, improve your current skills, or to compete against other middle school surfers.

We will have table at Grade 6 Registration August 22nd to sign-in and let us know you want more info!

A team meeting will be scheduled in early September to kick-off the season.

We have a blast at the beach, whether it is on softtops (WaveStorms), longboards, bodyboards (Boogieboards), or high performance shortboard shred sticks.

Along with the chance to compete for a spot on the competitive roster, we have a ton of fun events planned again. Your membership will include 7 months of activities, workouts, & lessons. T-shirts are provided and the team gets together for pizza and movie nights, Halloween dress-up surf parties, beach days, and contests. Last year we finished 2nd in San Diego and 4th in the state out of over 30 middle schools. It's a great way to meet new friends and get involved in our local beach and surfing community.

The Viking Surf Team is both a club and a team. New surfers can come out and learn the basics as they paddle out into local waves with their classmates. Seasoned surfers can battle out for a coveted roster spot in the Scholastic Surf Series monthly events. Please note that every level of surfer is supported by Kahuna Bob (Robert Edwards), a professional surf coach with years of coaching experience!

Last year teammates and family gathered at Grubby's to celebrate the holidays and our wonderful surf season.

The bean burritos and quesadillas were flowing as the Groms hooted and hollered at the surfing highlights on screen.

The celebration ended with the parents and kids loading up a truck load of unwrapped new toys which were delivered to Sullivan Middle School in Bonsall to help out the families and students who are struggling to recover after the fires.

Insurance for the surfers will be provided through theScholastic Surf Series.

This year to go out in the water with the Valley Viking Surf Team, we will need forms and a payment of $300 cash or check made out to "Viking Surf Team" before kids can surf for insurance purposes.

Please note that due to changing weather and wave conditions, surf lessons, practices, and workouts vary on a weekly basis.

We will use TeamSnap to keep you posted on updates and changes to the schedule each week.

Just like the pro surfers who have to be ready to travel on a moment's notice when the waves appear, we have to build our weekly workout schedule to best serve the variety of skill levels.
