Same woman. Very different place. 🤍
Three years ago, I was training, eating well and doing everything I thought I needed to do to feel and look my best.
But my body was struggling.
I couldn’t lose weight, my skin was breaking out, my hair was falling out, and looking back, I can see just how much stress my body was carrying.
At the time, I was going through a breakup, living on my own as a single mom, running my business and trying to keep up with all the demands of motherhood and entrepreneurship.
I was surviving — but I wasn’t really taking care of myself.
One of the biggest things I’ve learned since then is that our health is so much bigger than workouts and nutrition.
When we’re under stress, our bodies release hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. That response is completely normal. But when stress becomes chronic, it can affect our sleep, appetite, recovery, menstrual cycle and overall well-being — and can even contribute to things like breakouts and hair shedding.
For me, my hair, skin and weight were the biggest signs that something needed to change.
So I started taking my health more seriously.
More sleep. More nourishment. Better boundaries. More recovery. Learning when to push and when my body needed rest. And removing myself from situations that kept me in a constant state of stress.
Three years later, the difference isn’t just physical.
My hair is healthier. My skin is healthier. My body responds differently. But most importantly, I feel better.
As women, we spend so much time worrying about calories, workouts and the number on the scale that sometimes we forget to ask:
How am I actually doing?
Your workouts matter. Your nutrition matters.
But so do your sleep, stress, relationships, environment and mental well-being.
Your health deserves just as much attention as your physique.
