Adventure Sea Kayak and SUP is Hiring!!!!

Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! Adventure Sea Kayak and SUP on Captiva Island, is hiring Paddle Sport Attendants & Kayak and Stand up Paddle board Guides for part time/full time, weekday and weekend work.

We are looking for HONEST, HARD WORKING, RESPECTFUL, FRIENDLY, individuals who will assist with all aspects of our day to day operations. We are a “customer service first” based business and EXCELLENT customer service skills are a MUST!

Job requires helping guests on and off the water, lifting & cleaning kayaks & paddle boards, running transactions and guiding kayak eco tours. Must have excellent customer service & people skills, organizational skills and be physically fit and ABLE TO LIFT 50 POUNDS UNASSISTED MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY. Position also requires delivering Kayaks, paddle board so must have own transportation to and from Captiva & a clean driving record.

Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, Yoga certification and or Fishing experience is a plus! Management experience is a plus! Local ecology & environmental knowledge is a plus! Pay will be based on experience. Opportunities for advancement include guiding kayak & paddle board eco tours, summer camp counselor position and management.

Benefits include use of kayaks and SUPs outside of working hours, a beautiful Waterfront location, Great tips and a fun, easygoing team to work with!

Must have a good driving record and Pass a Background Check

This yellow crowned night heron joined Adventure Sea Kayak on a guided tour this week!

This majestic, long necked wading bird was behaving very bravely. 😎👍🏼
Unlike the White Ibis and Snowy Egrets—who fly away quickly when they see our guides and guests carefully approaching—some species of SWFL birds (like this heron as well as Little Blue Herons, Great Blue Herons, and Great Egrets) will often hold their ground as we quietly and respectfully pass by…

It is always exciting when our guests are lucky enough to have a close encounter like this; and yet, finding this heron in the mangrove trail was only one of MANY such highlights from our two hour trip! Between playful dolphins, curious manatees, and this brave little bird—it would be up to personal preference to decide what was the most magical part of this tour!

Our night trip on Wednesday was not only a beautiful, fun adventure… we were successful at confirming the start of the 2023 bioluminescent season!!

After enjoying a classic Captiva sunset from the water and waiting patiently for darkness lit only by a half moon waxing, our lucky tour group sighted small patches of the phosphorescent phytoplankton in the water. These tiny, living organisms sparkle “like magic” in the Pine Island Sound during the warm, rainy summer months in southwest Florida. Bioluminescence can be spotted sometimes are early as March or April and is consistently around from May until October when the water and weather cools off again.

Captiva and Sanibel’s own wildlife rehabilitation clinic () rereleased three sea turtles into their original home, the Pine Island Sound, by way of the Tween Waters Marina this morning!
Some guests of the Tween Waters Resort () and Adventure Sea Kayak we’re lucky enough to witness this magical moment as the turtles made their way into the water 🥰🐢💛
We look forward to seeing these little friends on future kayak adventures as they continue to live and thrive in the waters surrounding Captiva and Buck Key!
