The FIRE RELIEF FUNDRAISER CLASS raised $4,015 for CFSCC Fire Response Fund! Every dollar from class purchases will be directly donated to support fire relief in Santa Cruz County.

Thank you to everyone who purchased and who shared our fundraiser on social media and with friends, family and neighbors. The amount we raised is twice the goal we had set. It's all thanks to your generous support!

Over the last two weeks many people in our studio community have been directly and indirectly impacted by the CZU Lightning Complex fires, and we’ve seen our community devastated. To support fire relief efforts, we’re releasing a special FIRE RELIEF FUNDRAISER ONLINE BARRE CLASS on Sunday, September 6 at 12 pm.

This 75-minute online barre class will benefit Community Foundation Santa Cruz County Fire Response Fund.
•100% of sales from this class will be directly donated.
•Extended 75-minute class includes extra work in glutes and abdominals and a longer final stretch.
•Sarah, Michelle & Megan team teach, so you get all three senior instructors in one class.
•You can take this class as many times as you'd like before the end of 2020. (The class link & password will be active through the end of the year.)
•Minimum $20 donation; you can purchase multiple classes if you'd like to donate more.
•Since this is a fundraiser, memberships and class packages do not apply.
Sign up by 11:30 am on September 6. You'll receive an email with the class link & password at 12 pm.

We’ve been devastated over the last several days to watch our mountains burn. Our hearts are with you all – our barre community – and your friends, families and neighbors who have been impacted by the fires. And we are so grateful for the firefighters on the front line.

As of now, we plan to have our regular schedule this week – daily online Barre classes and live stream HIGH Fitness on Thursday evening. We hope that we can bring a bit of normalcy and self-care to you during these difficult times. As always, we’re here for you. ❤️

Introducing the newest member of our barre team – Rachel!

Rachel has been training (and crushing it) throughout this pandemic, and we‘re so excited to officially welcome her to the team. For now, you’ll see her showing off her best barre form in our virtual barre classes and on the mic once we’re back in studio.

We’ve heard your request for online class packages... and they are now available! 🙌🙌 We have a 10 and 5 class pack for your online barre classes. You can purchase your class pack through our online store and schedule your classes for the week all at once!

If we have to choose we would say the most important thing to have for barre at home is a ball (besides the barre that is 😋).
The Barre Studio balls are available for purchase online with curbside pickup at the studio! Just purchase the ball via the ‘products’ tab on our website and we can coordinate a pickup time 🙌

**we always give you modifications if you don’t have a ball at home but it is so helpful, especially in core work!**

Did you know there is more than one way to do a forearm plank?
•
Depending on the day you can choose a traditional plank on your toes, modified to the top of the thighs (heels pulling towards the glutes to stay off the knee caps), or up at a surface. Choose which option best suits your body every time you come down to the mat- it might be different every day!

After 120 barre classes (a combo of our in-studio AND online) has seen some major flexibility gains! 🙌🙌

Flexibility is something that develops over time... Do you know many of us walk into our first barre class barely being able to get a leg up at the barre during mid way stretch?

Consistently, dedication, and sticking around for the end stretch pay off though- look at that beautiful extension!

As you may have heard, Santa Cruz County announced today that several business sectors are required to close indoor operations. Starting tomorrow, July 28, The Barre Studio will be temporarily closed (again). Although we aren’t able to connect in-studio, The Barre Studio team will still be here for you with online classes every day.

UPDATES TO THE ONLINE STUDIO:

• We’re moving the daily online classes to 8:30 am starting tomorrow. Sign up by 8:00 am daily, and you'll receive the link at 8:30 am. You have 24 hours to take class before the link expires. We're in the process of updating the online schedule, and you'll automatically be moved to the 8:30 am class if you're already registered for this week's online classes.
• During the closure, we're adding two additional new barre classes weekly. The online class schedule will include 6 new barre classes weekly, 1 barre class from our recorded library, and live stream High Fitness on Thursday evening.

We've loved being back in the studio with you, and this closure is difficult for all of us. As this is a very fluid situation, we don't know how long classes will be suspended. We’re so grateful for your continued support and understanding.
