THE GREATEST EVER! Living legend Karch Kiraly, the best volleyball player in history and a gold medal-winning coach, wrote the foreword to “The Mental Edge” without compensation.

He believed in it.

Karch is not only a great volleyball player, but he is also a phenomenal person! I will never forget watching Karch stand in line like everyone else to purchase tickets for the NCAA semifinals. Not only did he stand in line, but people he knew came up and asked him to buy their tickets for them so they didn’t have to stand in line. He did! That’s just the kind of person he is. Can you imagine any other superstar doing such a thing?

JERRY WEST! Zeke from Cabin Creek, Mr.Clutch, The NBA Logo was one of my heroes growing up. I wanted to shoot like him and tried to emulate the best I could… BUT there was only one JERRY WEST!

I had the honor of talking with him for over an hour. One on One, just us. Priceless! He shared an illustration I use often. After he first asked about me and what I do he started to share his wisdom and insight and I sat mesmerized. He said, “Ken, setting a goal without a deadline is like running a race without a finish line.” He went on to explain how without a finish line you don’t know if you won or not and without a finish line you don’t know how to pace yourself, speed up and slow down. He then told me about his family and especially his boys and how hopeful he was that his youngest might turn out to be a player. He said, “I know he’s only 10 but you should see his release” 🙂

He was something! I don’t believe there was a more complete Basketball mind in history as he was a successful player coach, and legendary General Manager with two teams.

I had posted something the day after his death but for some reason didn’t post. Sorry for the delay. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES ❤️
