Each year, the athletic department hands out a total of four prestigious athletic awards at our end of the year assembly. The MSHSAA Award of Excellence (2), the Pat Colon Award, and the Jim Allen Award.

The MSHSAA Award of Excellence is given to one male and one female 8th grade student/athlete who demonstrates citizenship, integrity, character, and sportsmanship on and off the playing field. The award is voted on by all staff members at CJHS. This year, the awards were presented to Jakobi Phiffer and Ainsley Cook.

The Pat Colon Award is the highest female athletic honor at CJHS. The award is presented to the top 8th grade female athlete who demonstrates athletic excellence and sportsmanship, as well as good academics. The award is voted on by the Head Coaches and Athletic Director. This year, the Pat Colon Award was presented to Miya Pattengill.

The Jim Allen Award is the highest male athletic honor at CJHS. The award is presented to the top 8th grade male athlete who demonstrates athletic excellence and sportsmanship, as well as good academics. This award is also voted on by the Head Coaches and Athletic Director. This year’s Jim Allen Award winner was Levi Morris.

Congratulations to our athletic award winners. Thank you for representing CJHS in such a positive manner.
