We're excited to introduce a new line at MoRunCo: Safely, a female-founded personal safety brand designed to help you feel more confident on every run, walk, and everyday adventure.

Safely was founded by four women who met during a college class project and bonded over shared experiences of not feeling safe doing normal things. What started as a class project became a mission to create thoughtfully designed safety tools for real life.

Here's what we have in store:

Safely Sidekick: Named the #1 Pepper Spray Device for Women's Safety in the SafeWise Personal Safety Awards. This 5-in-1 tool combines maximum strength pepper spray, a 130 dB personal alarm, a rechargeable LED flashlight, a secure knuckle grip, and a swappable attachment (safety spike or keychain). The Mizuno Wave Rider 30 has landed at MoRunCo, and this isn't just another update, it's a celebration of 30 years of one of the most iconic daily trainers in the industry.

Since 1997, the Wave Rider has been a staple in the running world for its smooth, dependable ride. For the 30th edition, Mizuno completely rebuilt the formula. The biggest update is the new full-length Mizuno Wave Plate, replacing the heel-to-midfoot plate of previous versions for an even smoother transition from start to finish. Underfoot, the new midsole features Mizuno's nitrogen-infused Enerzy NXT foam stacked a bit higher in the forefoot for a new 8mm offset, paired with a lightweight new outsole structure, and a refined engineered mesh upper rounds out a daily trainer that honors the legacy while pushing it forward.

It's officially hot, and that means it's time for our annual hydration Pee-SA. (Sorry not sorry.)

The easiest way to gauge your hydration is by checking your p*e color. Gross, we know, but it's genuinely one of the fastest self-tests you can do. A few things to keep in mind beyond the chart:

Hydration should be a daily habit, not a pre-workout scramble. Sip throughout the day and you'll feel the difference on your runs.

Plain water isn't always enough when you're sweating heavily. Electrolytes from Tailwind, Nuun, or similar mixes (all available in-store) help your body actually hold onto the water you're drinking.

Best time to check is first thing in the morning or mid-day, not 5 minutes after you've chugged a bottle.

Stay safe out there this summer! We want to see you out and moving, not sidelined or injured by the heat!

It's another awesome weekend of racing ahead for runners in the area!

Saturday:
Zonta 5K, 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run at Arena Park: A Cape Road Runners Grand Prix race by the 4H Building, with the 10K starting at 7:30 AM and the 5K/1 Mile kicking off at 8:00 AM. And this year is extra special; The Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau is celebrating 50 years of advancing the status of women and girls locally and globally! All proceeds benefit the Zonta Club's service projects worldwide. The event will be chip-timed and onsite registration is available race morning starting at 6:45 AM if you missed online sign-up. Friday packet pickup is at Fitness Plus (150 South Mt. Auburn Road, Entrance #8) from 5 AM to 8 PM.

Longest Day 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser in Piedmont, MO: Hosted by Clark's Mountain Nursing Center, this 5K kicks off at 7:30 AM at the River Road Park Hike & Bike Trail (across from Spring Valley Resort). All proceeds benefit the Alzheimer's Association, a cause that touches so many of our families. A beautiful scenic course for a truly worthy reason to lace up.
