Some exciting news to share about the future of our club! Starting in Spring 2023, CMA will be affiliating itself with Bluefish Swim Club, and will – under the leadership of Marcel and his coaching staff -- formally change its name to “Bluefish Maine” and become part of New England Swimming! Until then, the club will continue to run this season as usual. CMA members – check your email for much more detail on this exciting announcement. While it’ll be the end of an era for CMA, it’s also a major step in the evolution of our club and of competitive swimming in Maine. The future is bright!

Thank you Maine Swimming for many, many years of support for our team. We look forward to continuing to host meets for MESI teams in the future.

MAINE SWIMMING is proud to present a day with Olympian Brendan Hansen!

Brendan Hansen is a six-time Olympic medalist, and also a former world record-holder in both the 100 and 200m breaststroke events (long course). He has won a total of 25 medals in major international competition; 18 gold, four silver, and three bronze – spanning the Olympic Games, the World Championships, and the Pan Pacific Championships. Hansen swam for ISHOF Coach Eddie Reese at the University of Texas, 2001-2005, where he was a 16-time All-American and won 14 NCAA National Championships. After his third Olympiad, at the conclusion of the 2012 Olympic Games, Hansen decided that it would be his final meet, retiring from the sport of swimming. Hansen married college girlfriend and former swimmer, Martha Gueleke, and they have three little girls. They continue to reside in Austin and he currently works for USA Swimming as the Director of Team Services. Brendan was recently inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame. We are so excited to welcome Brendan to Maine!

This all day clinic and meet event is for swimmers age 12 & over. This will be a USA Swimming approved event. All meet fees are included in the price! Lunch and water will be provided. Cost is $125. Outreach families please contact the office. MESI registered swimmers priority registration until 1/14/2022.

CMA Senior swimmer, Ethan Smith, is off to California in October to represent at ‘s camp to be held at the Chula Vista Olympic training center! If you see Ethan on deck, be sure to congratulate him on this fantastic national achievement!

Double Boom 💥 💥The CMA 400m Medley Relay Team of .smith6 set 2️⃣new MESI records at Futures today. They are also the first team in Maine under 4:00 in the event. Their time of 3:59.62 broke the 15-18 record of 4:07.33 held by the DEFY team as well as the Open record of 4:02.15 held by the SEAL’s. Congratulations on an amazing meet‼️

Boom! 💥 New MESI State record for CMA’s 400 FREE RELAY team of .smith6 💪 They beat the previous record of 3:45.42 with a blistering time of 3:40.51. Great swim‼️
