Today, our nation was reminded of a truth every military aviator, aircrew member, and military family understands all too well.

Every takeoff carries risk.

Whether flying a fighter, a helicopter, a transport aircraft, or a bomber, those who climb into military aircraft accept responsibilities and dangers that most Americans will never see.

As someone who spent a career in military aviation, I know that reality intimately. Not because it is something we dwell on, but because it is part of the profession we chose.

Today is not about the aircraft. It is not about investigations, headlines, or speculation.

It is about the 8 airmen who raised their right hands and volunteered to serve something greater than themselves.

Please join me in keeping the crew, their families, their fellow airmen, and the entire Air Force community in your prayers.

May we never take for granted the courage of those who stand watch, answer the call, and willingly accept the risks that come with defending this nation.

Semper Fidelis.

Immigration, Assimilation, and Culturation:

There is a right way and a legal process.

Forty years ago, 15 months after we were married in Kailua, Hawaii, Elsa completed the mission of becoming a U. S. citizen.

Studying for the oral and written exams was stressful and challenging.

At the end, she probably knew more about our nation’s history, laws, and rights than probably half of the nation.

I will never forget that beautiful morning at the Honolulu courthouse when about 50 new citizens took their oaths —— most, including myself, shed a few prideful tears.

Over the past few weeks, my team and I have spent hours walking neighborhoods in the district, listening to voters, answering questions, and earning support one conversation at a time.

What’s been most encouraging is how many familiar faces I’ve seen along the way.
Former wrestlers and their families. Neighbors. Small business owners. Friends I’ve known for years. Families I’ve met through schools, churches, youth sports, and community events throughout Southwest Florida.

These aren’t just voters. They’re people I’ve shared life with.
The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and it confirms what I’ve believed all along:

people are looking for authenticity. They want a representative who has served their country, invested in their community, and earned the trust of the people they're asking to represent.

I’m not trying to buy a seat in Congress. I’m seeking the opportunity to continue serving a community I’ve proudly called home for the past 27 years. Thank you, SWFL, for your support! We are on a path to victory!

On the beaches of Normandy, thousands of brave young men stormed into history and changed the course of the world.

Today, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of the Greatest Generation. Their willingness to fight for freedom came at an unimaginable cost, but their legacy endures in every generation that has followed.

We honor those who never came home, those who carried the scars of war, and all who answered the call when freedom needed defenders.

Lest we forget.

While my Dad was flying P-38s against the Japanese, my Uncle Russ Miller was parachuting behind enemy lines with the 82nd Airborne on this D-Day operation.

The words, “Freedom is not free” represent much more than a simple catch-all phrase … they hit with impactful emotion.

Over a year ago, I decided to step forward and enter this Congressional race to represent the constituents of Florida’s 19th District —- our wonderful Southwest corner of the greatest state in our United States.

After serving our nation for 20 years in the Marine Corps, this decision was another calling. Another mission. Another sacrifice. Hard to fully explain in mere words.

So, it was quite fitting to “Jump into this Congressional race” via a military-style static-line parachute jump last May with the “Phantom Brigade” into Lake Dora up in Lake County, NW of Orlando.

It was an indescribable feeling to make the jump out of a D-Day C-47 aircraft —- the “Tico Belle” —- Tail # 78.
She made 3 missions on D-Day dropping Army 82nd Airborne Paratroopers behind enemy lines —- including my Uncle Russ.

I am respectfully asking for your vote and financial support —— Early voting begins on Aug 8th and goes to the 15th. Actual Primary voting day is Tues Aug 18th. Make your voice matter.
