SUBJECT: Cape Cops 5K - 2020 Event Canceled
We have been closely following the updates on COVID-19 (Coronavirus) from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Florida Department of Health.As many of you are aware the CDC, in accordance with its guidelines for large events and mass gatherings, recommends no more than 10 people gather together. The Cape Coral Police Department, TheFraternal Order of Police Cape Coral lodge # 33 and Cape Cops Run Fest puts the safety, security and well-being of its citizen’s, athletes and all race participants as its first priority.
Due to the new guidelines, we will sadly have to cancel the Cape Cops 5K 2020 event. We understand the economic impact that everyone is feeling. We are in the process of implementing full refunds to every race participant, race sponsor and vendor.
We appreciate the overwhelming support from our community during this stressful time. As your race director, I look forward to 2021 and the continued partnership and support from our community, supporters, sponsors and vendors. The Cape Cops 5K will return for May 2021. Please take care of your families. If you can, please help your neighbors through this difficult time.
