Capac Girls Basketball Update

To all the amazing families and players in the Capac Girls Basketball community—

I want to sincerely apologize for not being able to attend the final day of youth workouts. An unexpected emergency came up, and I truly regret not being there to see those young athletes one last time.

That day would have been my final opportunity to connect with our youth players, as I have officially resigned from my role as the Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Capac. This was not an easy decision. Despite every effort to build interest and commitment at the high school level, the response just wasn’t there. Unfortunately, it’s looking like we may not have a season this year, and my goal coming in was to coach a full varsity program, not solely lead the youth side.

To those young girls who showed up, worked hard, and gave it their all—thank you. You were the highlight of my time here, and I’ll always be cheering for your future success, on and off the court.

Play hard, play smart, and play together. That’s what it’s all about.

We’re excited to welcome all current 1st–11th grade girls to our June Summer Program! This is a great opportunity to build skills, have fun, and be part of the Capac Basketball family.
📍 Location: Capac High School Gym
📣 IMPORTANT: Due to construction, all players and families must enter through the exterior gym doors. Hallways inside the school will be closed. Please plan accordingly!

Capac Girls Basketball is Looking for a Volunteer Assistant Coach!

Are you passionate about basketball and looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young athletes? Our Capac High School Girls Basketball Program is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Assistant Coach to join our team for the upcoming season!

Who We Are:
Our program is built on the core values of Playing Hard, Playing Smart, and Playing Together. We strive to build strong character, promote a competitive spirit, and create a positive, team-first culture that reflects the best of our school and community.

What We’re Looking For:
We want someone who:
• Loves the game of basketball and wants to invest in the development of young players
• Brings positive energy, accountability, and a team-first mindset
• Is willing to assist with practices, game preparation, and player development
• Can commit time consistently throughout the season (Nov–March), with possible involvement in off-season activities

What You’ll Gain:
• A chance to mentor and positively impact student-athletes
• Experience working in a structured, competitive, and values-driven program
• The satisfaction of being part of something bigger than yourself—our team, our school, our community

Preferred (but not required):
• Prior coaching or playing experience
• CPR/First Aid certification

Looking to level up your game this summer?

In lieu of hosting our own Capac Girls Basketball camp (which would be a one-coach show), we highly recommend the Cramer Basketball Shooting & Skills Camp at Marlette High School!

This is a high-intensity, detail-focused camp that many schools in our area take advantage of—and for good reason. Coach Cramer brings years of experience as a former pro and top-level trainer.

Details:
July 14–15
• Grades 3–6: 9am–12pm
• Grades 7–12: 1pm–4pm
• $60

This could be the most important basketball you play all summer long.

We’re working hard to revive the Capac Lady Chief Basketball program, and one of the best ways to build the future is through our Elementary & Junior High Basketball Camp!

💪 We Need Volunteer Coaches! 💪
If you love basketball and want to help young athletes learn, grow, and have fun, we’d love for you to be part of this camp. No coaching experience is required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to help!

🏀 Capac Lady Chiefs Girls Basketball Winter Clinics! 🏀

Calling all young athletes! The Capac Lady Chiefs are hosting FREE basketball clinics to help girls in grades 1-6 develop their skills, teamwork, and love for the game.
