What a great day to come out to Canyon Lake to shop, swim, Kayak and relax 😎

🌤 Weather Outlook (Canyon Lake, TX)
• High today: ~ 91°F 
• Low tonight: ~ 60°F 
• Skies: Mostly sunny to clear with lots of sunshine expected throughout the day. 
• Winds: Light ESE breeze around 5–10 mph 
• Rain chances: Extremely low (near 1–2%) — looks dry all day.

💧 River & Lake Conditions

Guadalupe River (Spring Branch / Inflow)
• The USGS gauge at Spring Branch is active, but recent published discharge values are not updated in real-time. 
• Older flow data for Spring Branch shows ~59.8 cfs and a gage height of ~2.12 ft (per historical or reference sources) 
• According to the GBRA basin summary, Spring Branch (Inflow) is running around 105 cfs in historical comparison, but current actual may be lower. 
• Canyon Lake release (at Sattler) is estimated around 77 cfs (this is the dam release, not the river’s natural flow) 

Canyon Lake Reservoir
• Current reservoir elevation (conservation pool) is ~ 891.60 ft MSL, putting the lake at about 67% of full capacity. 
• Inflow vs release: In the GBRA basin report, inflow (Spring Branch) is listed at ~105 cfs historically vs a release of ~77 cfs — suggesting the lake is receiving more water than it’s releasing (though real inflow may vary).

• Great day to be on the lake — warm temps, lots of sun, very low rain risk.
• River flows are moderate; safe for light recreation (floating, wading, fishing) so long as you pick a calm stretch and wear appropriate safety gear.

• Don’t forget sun protection: sunscreen, hats, shades, water.

🌞 Canyon Lake & Guadalupe River – Update for Today

Weather Report
• Morning: Mostly clear skies, cool start around 69°F. 
• Afternoon: Sunny and warm — high near 93-94°F. Light SSE winds (~5-10 mph). 
• Evening: Mostly clear, low around 67-70°F. Ideal for fireside chats or lakeside sunsets. 

Lake / River Conditions
• Inflow into Canyon Lake (Guadalupe River at Spring Branch): ~ 77.3 cubic feet per second (cfs). 
• River Flow near Bergheim: ~ 62.3 cfs. 
• Guadalupe River at Sattler: ~ 80 cfs with a gage height of ~ 4.28 ft. 

✅ What This Means / Tips for Visitors
• Water flow is moderate; good for tubing, fishing, kayaking — nothing too wild. But always check local spot conditions and use proper safety gear.
• With highs in the low 90s and plenty of sun, sunscreen, hats and plenty of water are musts.
• Early morning or late afternoon are your best windows for softer light & more comfortable temperatures.
• Even though evenings cool down, it stays pleasant late into the night for hanging out by the lake.

Howdy Canyon Lake friends & families — ready for a great weekend? Here’s what’s going on locally that you won’t want to miss - and we’ll be open too so come out and visit beautiful Canyon Lake this weekend!!

📅 Saturday, Sept 20
• The annual HarborFest at Holiday Harbor — 1 PM to 9 PM. Free fun with food, music, vendors, and kid-friendly water slides! Catch live performances from “Woody & the Harrelsons” at 4PM and a Jimmy Buffett tribute at 7PM. 
• Bassmasters Open Tournament — early morning (6AM), so if you like fishing or watching the competitive action, start your Saturday by the lake! 

📅 Friday, Sept 19
• VFW 8800 Hamburger Night in Canyon Lake — from 5PM to 8PM. Good grub + neighborhood vibes = a perfect way to kick off the weekend.
