For Clay Schumacher, the obsession started catching large mouth bass on Lake LBJ with his papaw at age 5. As a teenager, he lived in the mountains of NorCal with his father. Having a passion for all types of fishing, he eventually picked up a fly rod at dad's request. He always thought fly fishing was for old farts like dad. After landing his first chrome steelhead on the American River, with dad
