We had another great week of open mats Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for the kids. The numbers are as impressive as I had ever hoped for and kids are having fun. Brooke and Finley ran the girls Tuesday night open mat and did a terrific job!! Thanks to all the high school kids and coaches for giving these kids the opportunity throughout the summer.

Pictures were limited last week unfortunately but the wrestlers of the day went to Howie Espland, Blakely Schroder, and Jax McCoy. They each received a Dairy Queen gift card courtesy of the Canton Dairy Queen!!!!

Reminder no open mat Thursday this week due to Askren Wrestling academy camp we have in the gym. Still time to sign up. All ages can attend both sessions!!!

We had our second night for girls open mat and the numbers are growing again!! It was a fun night of learning for not only the youth girls but the upperclassmen girls as well!!! We can’t wait for the next girls practice June 9th from 6-7pm and regular practice (open to all youth)June 4th 9-10:30am

Congratulations to Kaisley Block on winning the Dairy Queen gift card!!!

Huge thanks to Dairy Queen in Canton for their donation of gift cards for the summer practices!!!!

Lastly thanks to the high school staff Coach Groenke, Coach Bartels for running these open mats and to the high school girls Lakynn Qualseth, Brooke Warejcka, Elaina Myburgh, Charlee Ann Winter, Rilan Warejcka, Charlie Karel for participating and being role models for these young kids!!!

Impressed is the only word I can think of for today’s open mat, we had 20 plus youth kids and 4 older kids attend today’s session!!!! Braden Sehr is putting in the work helping these kids this summer become not only better at wrestling but also better athletes!!

Thanks to Conner Giedd, Cael Vander Broek, Sean Christensen, Gavyn Ockenga for making time, showing up and being role models to the kids.

May 28th practice Lillian Block won wrestler of the day and today’s practice Braya Jarman won today’s award, they both received their Dairy Queen gift card.

Reminder girls have open mat Tuesday night at 6pm and regular open mats are every Monday and Thursday from 9-10:30.

Tonight we had our first girls only youth practice!!! We had a couple girls join that are brand new to wrestling and some familiar faces. They all worked hard and had a lot of fun.

Next Tuesday we have our next girls practice from 6-7pm.

The recipient of the Dairy Queen gift card tonight was newcomer Morrison Montgomery!!!!

On our Memorial Day practice Edie Karel and Cade Vander Broek were awarded the Dairy Queen gift cards from working hard and being good partners.

Reminder girls open mat tonight for 6-7pm. We are all very excited for this so if you are available we would love to see you, also if you have a daughter that has been interested in wrestling this would be the best time for her to try it!!!!!

First day of summer and these kids showed up to summer practices!!! I couldn’t be more proud of these kids for showing up and taking advantage of what is available and starting the summer strong!!

Reminder: every Monday and Thursday from 9-10:30 a.m. there is practice for all youth wrestlers.

Coach Groenke and the Lady C-hawks have practices available most Tuesday nights from 6-7 p.m. for girls only throughout the summer.

After each practice, the coaches select one kid to award a $5 Dairy Queen gift card for their hard work, and apparently there was a little miscommunication by me (Kelly) and Coach Sehr, so three kids were awarded gift cards!!!! Libby Karel, Hesston Jarman, and Abraham Montgomery were the lucky recipients of the first gift cards!!! Congratulations to all!

Thanks to Cael Vander Broek, Gavyn Ockenga, and Sean Christensen for helping the kids as well.
